We are hiring a Regional Compute Engineer based in Singapore. The client is an established and reputable IT solutions provider supporting over 60 entities across the APAC region. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing compute infrastructure, including servers, cloud platforms, storage, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with strong technical skills in Windows, cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure), and a solid understanding of performance, security, and compliance in a regional or MNC environment.

Role Summary

The Regional Compute Engineer is responsible for managing and administering compute areas, including infrastructure servers, cloud instances, and application servers. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and reliability of systems, while collaborating with various teams to integrate compute infrastructure with existing systems and applications.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Responsible and administration of for compute areas incl. infra. servers, cloud instances, applications servers, storage, data centre, backup and disaster recovery. Ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of the system. Ensure resources are efficiently utilized and maintained.
  2. Collaborate with compute lead and solution teams and other stakeholders to integrate compute infra. With existing systems and applications.
  3. Manage and administer various server OS, roles and features across windows and non-window platform, including rile server, cloud systems, update servers, relevant infra servers and application servers.
  4. Manage global identity and permissions conduct periodic user access check/audit and maintain a comprehensive record of accessibility to ensure security and compliance requirements are meet.
  5. Take part in audit exercise, ensure of process is follow, doc is up-to-date to comply with internal and external audit.
  6. Monitor and analyse compute resource utilization, identifying opportunities for optimization and capacity planning. Implement performance tuning measures to improve server performance, reliability and efficiency.
  7. Conduct load testing and benchmarking to validate performance of compute infrastructure under various workloads.
  8. Directs daily compute operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, well verse in server issue and analysis with appropriate recommendation for change and countermeasure for improvement.
  9. Ensure of security control and measures to protect compute infrastructure from unauthorize access, malware, and other threats. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to compute security, ensure regular security assessment and practices are being applied to the computer systems.
  10. Responds to incident and service requests related to compute infrastructure, diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  11. Provide guide dance and mentorship to develop teams to build competency in compute area for regional compute teams., e.g., automate task, cloud technology.
  12. Take part in crisis and disaster events, involve in planning of availability, disaster recovery. Leading crisis response, and recovering from event that threaten system stability, involve in communication and driving the crisis till closure.
  13. Provide recommendation on compute optimization, able to work on technical proposal for system upgrade, hardware change, cloud resource proposal, recurring cost related to the implementation and ongoing maintenance of new or existing systems.
  14. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes and procedures., maintain reports and regularly keep track of reports.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
  2. Min 5 years’ experience in IT role, system administration, with focus on planning, testing and system updates and patching, including software integration and cloud management.
  3. Experience in managing crisis or emergency situation, ability to convey actions to crisis team, managers and user effectively is preferred.
  4. Technical proficient in Windows, Active Directory, server protocols, some scripting, cloud technologies.
  5. Work experience in supporting MNC environment, or APAC region a plus.
  6. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to address complex technical issues.
  7. Relevant certification a plus, e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Azure, ITIL is preferred.
