Job Summary:
The Volunteer & Youth Development Intern supports the development and delivery of volunteer initiatives and youth empowerment programmes at MTFA. This includes assisting with recruitment, onboarding, engagement, training, and impact tracking, while contributing to strategic areas such as cross-agency collaboration, inclusive outreach, and grassroots movement building. The role offers hands-on experience in community partnership work, event coordination, and programme evaluation in a nonprofit setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Volunteer Engagement & Operations
Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of volunteers through digital platforms, orientation sessions, and community outreach. This includes helping to maintain volunteer records, responding to volunteer queries, and coordinating internal volunteer deployments such as mentors and para-counsellors. The intern will also contribute to cross-agency collaboration efforts by supporting partnership communications and joint volunteer initiatives.
2. Assist in Programme Delivery & Capacity Building
Provide administrative and logistical support for training sessions, recognition activities, and capacity-building workshops. The intern will help coordinate events that empower both volunteers and scholars, including youth leadership initiatives such as the Scholar Impact Project, Fundraising Challenge, and Leaders of Tomorrow. This includes supporting onboarding briefings, tracking participation, and preparing training or engagement materials.
3. Contribute to Impact Measurement & Inclusive Outreach
Help document and track volunteer activities, engagement outcomes, and programme feedback. The intern will support the preparation of impact reports to inform programme improvements. In addition, the role includes contributing to inclusive outreach efforts by promoting diverse volunteer participation and assisting in the storytelling of grassroots-led and interfaith volunteer initiatives.
