Summary:
As a Systems Deployment Engineer, you will take a commercial product through installation, deployment, and proof
of concepts. You will also drive innovative approaches to operating and supporting infrastructure to achieve results.
This role involves a significant amount hands-on work within a data center environment, including physical
installation and cabling of hardware.
In this role, you will maintain and control access to the systems, and troubleshoot technical problems with a mix of
infrastructure, software, networking, system administration, and documentation challenges. You will ensure a secure,
stable and reliable operations center, while advocating for our customer and operator needs. Experience in securing
and managing airgapped environments is highly desirable. In addition, you will also work with Operations, Program
Management Office, and Engineering teams to help design, deploy, and man enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities:
Deploy and configure air-gapped cloud solutions such as Google Distributed Clo (GDC).
Install, rack, cable (fiber and copper), terminate, configure and manage mult technologies including but not
limited to network switches, firewalls, block storag object storage, servers, and hardware security modules
Deploy and configure Operations Center (OC) IT infrastructure, including loc workstations and IT equipment
used to manage air-gapped cloud solutions
Perform cable testing and validation to ensure network connectivity and performance
Troubleshoot and collaborate with engineering on issues that may arise with infrastructure or software while
deploying an air-gapped cloud solution, collaborate within the organization and with external stakeholders to
deliver complex enterprise solutions
Improve deployment and management processes for air-gapped cloud solutions by collaborating with
external stakeholders such as engineering teams.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practic experience.
Experience in racking and stacking servers and network equipment in a datacenter environment, including at
least 1 years of experience in cabling and termination.
Experience of deploying, configuring, and cabling hardware in a data center environmen including
experience with fiber optic and copper cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a termination (RJ45, LC, SC connectors),
and testing.
Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software, including servers, network switches, storage
arrays, and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
Experience with Firmware upgrading/downgrading.
5 years of experience with Linux and operating systems technologies, and architecture/infrastructure in
compute infrastructure, supporting, developing, maintaining cloud solutions
Experience with managing hosted services/SaaS including familiarity with one or more of the following
programming/scripting languages: Java, C, C++, .NET, Go, Python, shell, Perl, JavaScript
Experience in managing Kubernetes extensibility through Custom Resources and Custom Controller.
Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters on bare metal or virtualized environments
Understanding of network switching, VLAN, subnetting, IP addressing, routing and network troubleshooting.
Singapore Government CAT 2A or higher security clearance (Singapore Citizen or Permanent Residence)
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of Kubernetes virtualization solutions like Kubevirt or experience running Kubernetes on top
of hypervisors like VMware vSphere, Service Mesh, Public Key Infrastructure
Familiarity with Cisco switches, network overlay VxLAN and VRF, routing protocols.
Familiarity with fiber optic cabling standards, troubleshooting, and connector types (L SC).
Experience with structured cabling best practices and cable management within racks and data center
environments
Experience with racking and stacking servers, network equipment, and storage arrays in a data center
environment
Experience using hardware diagnostic tools and utilities for servers, network equipment, and storage
systems
Experience in troubleshooting and supporting large-scale applications such as web services, data storage,
databases, high-performance computing with Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with Tools:
Cable testers (Fluke or similar)
Fiber optic light sources and power meters
Labeling tools
Inventory management systems
