Project Manager – Terminal Systems – APAC (18 months Contract)
DP World is seeking for a Project Manager – Terminal Systems to take ownership and responsibility for Project management activities associated with the implementation of Zodiac terminal operating system (TOS) nationally. This includes working with the Project Director and other Project Managers in APAC where required to deliver the project. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading projects and undertake end-to-end project management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan the project and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate with key stakeholders.
- Apply a structured methodology and lead project management activities
- Monitor the project schedule to ensure the project stays on track to deliver to the agreed timeline. Escalate to the Program Director as soon as milestone delays are identified.
- Planning and managing the project from outset to closure
- Plan the project and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate with key stakeholders.
- Apply a structured methodology and lead project management activities
- Monitor the project schedule to ensure the project stays on track to deliver to the agreed timeline. Escalate to the Program Director as soon as milestone delays are identified.
- Planning and managing the project from outset to closure
- Develop and manage a project plan and schedule, to support the activity, resources and interdependencies
- Identifying and resolving issues and managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
- Working with the project director to develop and manage the budget and benefits realisation across the project
- Taking the lead or support the project director in managing relationships including internal and external team members, stakeholders and sponsors/project committees
- Reporting progress and directing communications for the project
- Ensuring that the right people, with the right skills, are secured for the right roles within the project
- Overseeing overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary
- Identifying and obtaining any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
- With the Project Director, conduct end project evaluation to assess how well the project was managed and preparing an end-project report (including lessons learned report/preparation of any follow-on action recommendations as required)
- Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders: This includes building relationships with them to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Facilitating stakeholder meetings: Organizing and leading regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress, address concerns, and provide updates.
- Gathering stakeholder feedback: Collecting feedback from stakeholders to better understand their needs and expectations and to inform project decision-making.
- Communicating project updates: Keeping stakeholders informed of project progress, changes, and potential impacts on their interests.
- Managing stakeholder expectations: Ensuring stakeholders have a clear understanding of project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and managing their expectations throughout the project life cycle.
- Participating in Project Status and Planning forums in order to understand potential project and resource needs during the year
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Project Management or Information Technology or Logistics or equivalent
- Certificate in PMP / Agile will be a plus
- At least 5 years of experience in Project Management
- Prior experience in Ports and Terminals, Logistics industry will be an added advantage
- Experience in managing medium IT projects including integrations
- Knowledge of Project Management principles, methodologies and tools
