Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Murex Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the functional and technical initiatives within our Capital Markets domain. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Murex (MX.3) and a strong understanding of front-to-back trading workflows in capital markets. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of projects and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary SME for Murex across all modules (Front Office, Back Office, Risk, and Operations).
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation, upgrade, and configuration of Murex modules.
  • Analyze and gather business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Customize and configure Murex workflows, simulation views, formulas, and reporting.
  • Liaise with traders, risk managers, operations, and IT teams to support trading, risk, and settlement activities.
  • Ensure smooth integration of Murex with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, Calypso, Markit).
  • Coordinate and execute system testing, UAT, and production releases.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Murex-related issues.
  • Guide junior analysts and developers working on Murex-related enhancements or issues.
  • Stay updated on Murex product upgrades, features, and market best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Capital Markets/Investment Banking domain with strong exposure to Murex (MX.3).
  • Deep expertise in Murex modules: FO (Trade Capture, Simulation), MO/BO (Confirmation, Settlement), Risk, and Reporting.
  • Experience in Murex datamart, MxML workflows, MxML Exchange, and MxG2000.
  • Strong hands-on skills in scripting (UNIX, SQL, XML, Python preferred).
  • Good understanding of financial products: FX, IRD, Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, etc.
  • Exposure to trade lifecycle and risk management concepts (VaR, Greeks, PnL attribution).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile or DevOps environments.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Murex Certification or relevant vendor training.
  • Prior experience in large transformation or migration projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted Murex implementations or Murex as a managed service.
