Role Overview
As a Field Engineer, you are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of RFID/IoT systems across multiple client sites. This role requires technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving, and client communication skills to ensure system reliability and performance. You will work both independently and with senior engineers to resolve issues, optimize system layouts, and support end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Deployment – Install, configure, and integrate RFID systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal interference.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance – Diagnose hardware and software issues, perform firmware updates, and replace faulty components.
- Power & Network Diagnostics – Use tools like multimeters, power testers, RFID handheld readers, and cable testers to assess system health.
- Client Communication – Provide technical support, manage expectations, and deliver user training when needed.
- Reporting & Process Improvement – Maintain service logs, contribute to troubleshooting guides, and suggest system enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience with RFID readers, antennas, and tags and their configurations.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities for hardware, power, and network issues.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools (RFID handheld readers, cable testers, multimeters, etc.).
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) or database queries (SQL).
- Familiarity with cloud-based monitoring and remote diagnostics.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills.
- Ability to manage client expectations and work collaboratively with teams.
- Detailed documentation and reporting of site visits and issue resolutions.
Experience & Education
- 2-3 years of experience in RFID/IoT field service, IT support, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related fields (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience with on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and system installations.

The Salary Range for this position is SGD2,800 - 4,000 monthly.
