Main Responsibilities

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Financial Controller directly, you shall be responsible to

  • Manage all accounting requirements (including operational, statutory, management and financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting)
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing, year-end closing, management reporting, cost allocation and financial analysis
  • Key liaison with internal IT support and end-to-end issue resolution process which can arise from technical, data or process gap for IFRS 17 in UAT and Production testing environment
  • Working with the team and cross functional departments on identifying and ensuring data sources are ready for catch-up runs, and supporting the testing of future processes to meet those disclosure, especially for historical comparative figures
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise on the new accounting standard IFRS 17
  • Provide support in IFRS17 related audit matters
  • Assist in financial year-end financial statements IFRS 17 disclosure requirements.
  • Work with auditors in the external and internal audits
  • Adhere to accounting procedures and policies to ensure compliance with local statutory standards and practices
  • Participate in MAS reporting-related projects, government surveys, generate and prepare reports required by the statutory boards and management periodically.
  • Propose continuous improvements to accounting procedures and policies to achieve higher work efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Qualifications
  • A recognized Degree in Finance, Accountancy or any related discipline
  • Experience
  • Minimum 6 years of hands on experience in similar role handling statutory reporting preferably in the General Insurance industry
  • Good computing skills – MS Office is a must and Polisy400 an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, detailed and meticulous
  • Highly motivated, committed and possess high level of integrity
  • Independent and a fast learner, able to grasp processes and systems quickly
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to handle stress and work within tight datelines
