Job Description

•Able to independently design all kinds of workboats – consist of displacement, semiplanning, planning hull

•Perform General Stability Calculations (Intact and Damaged) for the vessels.

•Perform Calculations for Weight, GRT/NRT, Wind Heeling Moment and Longitudinal Strength, Scantling Calculation.

•Familiar and skill full with the industry standard software packages (GHS etc)

•Ensuring designs adhere to Class Rules, Regulatory Framework, and Contract Technical Specifications and to ISO standard

•To deal with owners and class surveyors to solve basic design, engineering and production issues.

•Provides technical support to Commercial and Engineering Departments for enquiries and ongoing projects.

Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture

•Relevant experience in marine design for the above vessel types

•Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat and standard calculation software for naval architects.

•Possess working knowledge of fundamentals in naval architecture, and application of engineering principles

•Knowledge of engineering analysis techniques and tools/software applications used in naval architectural engineering

•Knowledge in the studies and optimization of hull form using naval architect knowledge coupled with model testing for the purpose of minimizing resistance or improvement of seakeeping performance
