Job Scope: * Supporting data generation, such as population surveys and in-depth interviews. This will involve assisting in fieldwork (e.g. preparing and checking research materials; liaising with vendors; monitoring and responding to public feedback) and quality checks (e.g. monitoring interviewer training, conduct, and performance; and managing and reviewing datasets).
  • Supporting research conceptualisation and analysis. This will involve conducting literature reviews (e.g. source, review, and document findings and other details from research papers, reports, and related sources) and assisting in quantitative data analysis and visualisation (including related tasks such as data checks, cleaning, and merging).
  • Supporting administrative and non-research functions. This will involve assisting with inventory management, coordinating and note-taking for department meetings, and other duties.
Requirements:
  • Background in social sciences (e.g. psychology, sociology, economics) and/or research-related research experience or training.
  • Good written and verbal communication as well as numeracy skills, and meticulous with details.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Pivot Table in Microsoft Excel).
  • The following skills will be advantageous:
  • Experience with quantitative data analyses (e.g. basic R programming); and/or
  • Familiarity with the research process (e.g. handling surveys, in-depth interviews).
*When required, some tasks may take place in the late afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends to support in-person surveys.
