Sustainability Manager – APAC (Partnerships & NGOs)

We are seeking for a dynamic candidate for Sustainability Manager – APAC to join DP World! In this regional role, you will be focusing on exploring and managing regional partnerships with NGOs, supporting our sustainability champions in the regions with community projects and managing data and compliance requirements including owning community investment system for the regions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with Regional Sustainability champions to forge new long-term partnerships to maximize the impact
  • Collaborate with sustainability champions to identify potential partners, such as NGOs, industry bodies, or academic institutions, that align with DP World's sustainability goals. This includes conducting stakeholder assessments and engagement activities to ensure mutual benefit and long-term collaboration
  • Work with partners (Champions, teams) to design and implement joint sustainability projects, such as community engagement projects, ensuring that they align with DP World's strategic objectives. Regularly review and assess the impact of these initiatives to ensure continuous improvement
  • Support APAC region sustainability champions to measure the impact of their initiatives using group guidelines
  • Collaborate with sustainability champions to regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of sustainability initiatives across the APAC region. Offer ongoing feedback and support to ensure alignment with the group’s sustainability guidelines, while identifying opportunities for improvement and sharing best practices across different regions.
  • Support VP Sustainability APAC to get data and information from regional champions as requested by the group periodically
  • Review and verify the quality of the data received, ensuring it aligns with the group’s sustainability metrics and reporting standards. Prepare consolidated reports for the VP Sustainability APAC, highlighting key insights, trends, and areas requiring further attention or action based on the collected information.
  • Support VP Sustainability APAC with ad hoc work as and when needed with short turnaround times
  • Stay flexible and responsive to shifting priorities, working closely with the VP Sustainability APAC to provide immediate support on unexpected challenges or opportunities. This may involve preparing presentations, conducting rapid research, or assisting in the coordination of last-minute projects to meet the VP's needs.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Environment, Social Science, Business, or similar field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing and overseeing sustainability initiatives
  • Experience in handling multi-million projects across APAC
  • Strong Project management experience to manage projects with NGOs and public-private initiatives, to build new partnerships and with NGOs
  • Passion to learn and explore new ideas and present them to the stakeholders
  • Experience of regulatory stakeholder management
  • Experience of consultant management
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to recognise issues, analyse, formulate and implement appropriate solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, computer literacy, report writing and administrative skills.
  • Good grasp of MS Office products like Excel and PowerPoint
  • Travelling within APAC will be expected (20%) to ensure that events are well conducted, funding is done in compliance with the necessary tracking
