About the Role:
They are seeking a passionate and driven candidate to join their Singaporean team to support their business intelligence party as the Associate Director with enhanced due diligence and strategic intelligence projects across the APAC region. The ideal candidate will be an independent, analytical thinker with over 6 years of experience in strategic consultancy, commercial advisory, or a related field, possessing a strong understanding of commercial and cultural dynamics in Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct commercial due diligence and counterparty analysis across Asia, determining lines of inquiry and focus areas based on potential commercial, regulatory, and political risks.
- Develop strategies for interviewing and engaging human sources, as well as for research and public records.
- Assess and triage investigative materials, evaluating the credibility of intelligence sources and reported issues.
- Debrief clients by creating commercially accurate and structured briefings and reports, presenting findings in meetings with deal teams, legal teams, and C-suite executives.
- Draft comprehensive written reports that synthesize and analyse investigative materials, identifying and benchmarking commercial and operational issues.
- Build and maintain intelligence source networks by identifying, vetting, and cultivating human sources across major Asian geographies and industries, addressing any gaps in coverage.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in at least one APAC country, with a solid understanding of the commercial and regulatory risks faced by investors in the region.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in producing complex commercial writing and advisory, such as consultancy, law, investment advisory, or business journalism.
- Fluency in another Asian language (Vietnamese, Chinese, Indonesian/Malay, Thai, Japanese, or Korean) is a plus
- 2-3 years of experience in managing teams and project management is a plus.
