Summary
The Ramp Team Leader is overall responsible for the loading and unloading of an aircraft.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect Loading Instruction Report from Control Room/Load Planning Office
- Prepare, deploy and account for all equipment and manpower before the arrival of flight and ensure manpower assigned to him for the flight are properly briefed
- Initiate equipment worthiness checks before arrival of flight and report to Control Room of any defect detected
- Operate Aircraft Docking Guidance System (ADGS)
- Carry the loading & unloading operations out efficiently and safely within the stipulated ground time and in accordance with airlines and departmental requirements
- Coordinate between aircraft & Control Room/Arrival/Departure/Cargo during operations
- Responsible for the discipline, safety and performance of staff assigned to him
- Prepare and ensure that all apron equipment is in a prepared state of readiness for operation for the following day’s operations
- Report all flight abnormalities or unusual occurrences to the duty manager
- Supervise and help the loading & unloading on main deck with no in-plane system
- Ensure aircraft interior cleaning (AIC) services are carried out satisfactorily based on airlines’ requirements
- Ensure that all the records (eg, timing for each step in the sequence) for each flight is recorded in the system
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedure
- Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting manager or department head
Requirements
- Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level and above
- Must possess minimum LTA Class 3 driving license and above
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ramp handling
- Able to obtain Airfield Driving Permit (ADP) after attended Aircraft Rules & Regulations Course (ARRC) conducted by internal instructor and Airfield Rules Test (ART) by Changi Airport Group (CAG)
- Physical fitness and stamina. Able to carry bags and loose items
- To accommodate round-the-clock flight arrivals and departures, he/she is able to work outdoors, in shifts and under all weather conditions
