We specialize in providing optimization, hedging, market operations, and analytics services to support our clients.To support its growth in the Asia Pacific region, GEM APAC is strengthening its Middle Office / Business Control function. The role leads, coordinates, and manages a range of activities to ensure service availability, quality, and performance levels. The objective is to deliver on key goals for the domain, aligned with the overall objectives of the department.Role:Main responsibilities:Trade support
  • Ensure positions and trade details recorded in internal systems match external parties (clearers, custodians, prime brokers, counterparties)
  • Facilitate the timely resolution of position and trade breaks
  • Facilitation of option expiry processes and other contractual obligations
  • Compression and novation processing
  • Send the Trade Confirmation to counterparties
  • Reconcile brokerage fees
  • Compliance with regulations and internal policies with respect to trade execution and capture
  • Regulatory reporting to the authority
  • Assist and maintain SOP documentation
Pnl Reporting
  • Daily P&L production, reconciliation, reporting and analysis
  • Reconcile and resolve P&L variances with front office trading desks
  • Reconcile P&L reported to general ledger and investigate any variances
  • Conduct periodic independent price verification and valuation
  • Participate in new business/product approval process
  • Work closely with Financial Control on ledger booking, accounting fair value adjustment, and financial statements disclosure
Process Improvement and Projects
  • New business initiatives: Including set up of new traders and products
  • Process Improvements including technology enhancements
  • Enhancing knowledge through training and maintenance of team procedures and policies
  • Completing event reviews and implementation of risk mitigation improvements
Hard skills:
  • Solid Understanding of Finance/derivatives fundamental (Valuation, relational database, business intelligence
  • Solid knowledge of Risk Management system (Orchestrade) and reporting system
  • Ability to manipulate high volume of data / data science
  • Knowledge of Commodities Markets dynamics
  • Experience in PowerBI/ Python
Soft skills:
  • Accustomed to a fast-paced, dynamic trading floor environment
  • Interactive behavior : Active Listening and communication skills
  • Problem solving : Issues perception, analyzing, practical thinking, creativity, innovation
Education and professional background:
  • Minimum Degree in Business related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in trading industry
  • Have knowledge about commodity trading (especially oil and gas)
Languages:
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Japanese or Chinese is not mandatory but would be advantageous, as the role involves handling documents and communication with counterparties/stakeholders in other countries.
