Lead and execute the data governance strategy to enable secure, responsible, and streamlined data management across the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant data policies and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain enterprise-wide data standards and policies, while driving communication and progress tracking with key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Champion organizational change by analyzing user behavior and crafting practical procedures that support the successful adoption of data governance initiatives.
- Oversee the resolution and coordination of critical data governance-related issues and escalations.
- Partner closely with IT teams and Data Business Partners to foster strong engagement and stewardship of data assets.
- Sustain continuous improvement and oversight of data governance through active involvement with the Data Governance Council.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and technology operations teams to apply best practices and enforce governance standards.
- Bring in-depth knowledge of implementing data governance tools and frameworks in areas such as:
- Data quality
- Data lineage
- Data glossary
- Data security management
- Metadata management
- Advanced data analytics
- Draft and promote data governance policies, support enterprise-wide adoption, and coordinate with legal and information security departments to minimize data-related risks.
- Given the role's high-level exposure, excellent communication and influence skills are essential to engage C-level executives, business data owners, and stewards in driving governance at scale.
