VP Operations Risk
Our client, a well- established fintech with a focus on providing banking technology solutions is looking to expand their business within the Asia Pacific region. The company is looking for an (VP) Operations Risk Manager base in Singapore to join them. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of the company’s operations and establishing standards. This role will report to the Chief Risk Officer.
Job Responsibilities:
- The VP – Operations Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks associated with the company’s business. This role is also responsible in developing risk management strategies and frameworks to protect the organization, financial positions, assets, personnel and IT, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will need to know how to implement Operations Risk & Control framework to mitigate Operations Risks such as Third Party – Outsorucing Risk, Business Continuity Management, Business Operations Risk will be required to enhance the firm’s overall robustness and operational resilience.
- In this position, you will perform a range of duties working closely with management, compliance, operations, finance and risk management team. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and in-depth knowledge of the best practice in risk management.
Skills/ Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience covering Non-Financial Risk / Operational Risk within the financial service sector, with relevant experience in compliance, internal audit, and/or enterprise risk management (ERM).
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field.
- Familiar with risk event management, issue management, risk assessments, internal control testing methodologies, Key Risk Indicators, scenario analysis, risk analytics and reporting
- Able to analyze, collate and understand the business requirements
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and stakeholder management skills.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of investors' perspectives on the anticipated risk landscape and effectively implement strategies to manage and mitigate these risks within the organization.
- Strong awareness and understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to digital platforms in the geographies that the firm operates in.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance framework that are applicable to banks and experience in implementing and monitoring these frameworks in the geographies where the firm’s clients are.
- Good understanding of technology, associated industry trends and developments that impacts the firm and its business.
- Excellent writing skills in English (in oral and written form) and in representing ERM in senior internal and external governance.
