JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategy and Planning

  • Responsible for managing overall profitability of respective product lines – Unit Trusts, FX, DCIs, Bonds, Structured Notes, Equities as well as Portfolio Financing / Reverse Repo.
  • Management of overall Investments product strategy. Identify key product trends and work with both internal and external parties to establish product ideas and generation, including the CIO team.
  • Key contact point between external product partners and primary gatekeeper to assess Investments product viability.
  • Oversee department projects (digital & non-digital), client seminars and periodic investment product / sales meetings.
  • Keep abreast of the market landscape in order to be able to take actions to capitalize on opportunities and threats.
  • Focus on development and management of holistic product offering, pricing, marketing, MIS and distribution strategy.
  • Recommend framework and process improvements and work with stakeholders such as Sales Governance, Platform Efficiency and Digital SG team so that product offerings can be enhanced.
  • Collaboration with other stakeholders in the SG Branch (particularly Treasury, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Ops) and Group to support evolving business needs.
  • Prepare and present papers to various SG and Group Committees as required, eg. Affluent Products Committee, Fair Dealing Committee, SRCC, GRCC, etc.
  • Assess and prioritise investment products for migration to digital channels such as Clicks, so as to create new channels for product adoption and grow investment penetration for Preferred clients, SG-MY clients as well as mortgage customers by 25% over the next 3 years.

Business Performance and Management

  • Responsible for managing overall profitability of respective Investment product lines & as well as credit products associated with Wealth Management (reverse repo & portfolio financing).
  • Ensure portfolio profitability, market competitiveness and product/channel innovation.
  • Develop annual business plans and review business objectives periodically.
  • Proactively identify and on-boarding new Investment products for the consumer sales and distribution teams.
  • Identify and to scale the reach of product management ideas regionally wherever possible, eg. via cross-border referrals.
  • Run business process improvement initiatives to improve work flow and improve resource utilisation.
  • Drive investment product adoption and cross-sell via traditional as well as new channels such as Clicks, whatsapp, etc.
  • Work with the Digital Banking team to drive online sales of UTs (eg. $30m sales in 2025).
  • Undertake at least 2 digital enhancement projects per year.
  • Work with the Preferrd and CIO team on half-annual market outlook events and opportunities to engage clients and promote thought leadserdhip.
  • Work with Investment Counsellors (ICs) to generate product ideas, training programmes and RM engagement activities to build awareness and highlight the importance of investing and to upskill RMs’ competency. Also work with ICs on small scale talks / events to engage clients and cross-sell initiatives.

People Management

  • Oversee the Investment product management team.
  • Develop, build and lead an effective and cohesive team that operates seamlessly.
  • Participate in the selection and development of staff. Interview, coach, advise, and evaluate the performance of staff.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure proper Due Diligence on Investment products prior to product launch, and proper updates and documentation of the department's SOPs.
  • Adhere to risk management policies and guidelines.
  • Adherence to applicable regulatory guidelines and operate the business within the approved regulatory environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8-10 years years banking experience with a minimum of 3 years in a product management role
  • CMFAS 1B, 5, 6, 6A, 8, & 8A
  • CFA or CFP would be an advantage
