  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of casualty risks, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Assess and analyze risk exposures, pricing, and terms and conditions to ensure profitable underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, loss control, and risk engineering, to provide comprehensive and tailored insurance solutions.
  • Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and competitive landscape.
  • Negotiate and structure insurance policies to meet client needs while maintaining profitability.
  • Prepare and present underwriting proposals, reports, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor and review the performance of the casualty portfolio, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and training programs to enhance knowledge and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Insurance or a related field.
  • Professional insurance qualifications (e.g., ACII, CPCU) preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in underwriting casualty and Singapore worker's compensation risks within the commercial insurance sector.
  • Experience with Singapore worker's compensation is a requirement.
  • Strong technical underwriting skills and a thorough understanding of casualty risks and exposures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
