The role of Marketing Director has oversight of shaping the brand identities and positioning of the fastest growing brands in small appliances across ASEAN distributor markets. Your creative vision and strategic mindset will drive the success of our products, ensuring they stand out in a competitive landscape and that go-to-market planning supports the commercial objectives of the ASEAN business, across both new and existing product categories.

What are the responsibilities?

Strategic Leadership

  • The marketing director is responsible for delivering top and bottom-line business goals and results as well as ensuring go-to-market executional excellence, including products, in-store visibility, and retail experience that develop an innovative and industry-leading consumer journey in all channels.
  • They will drive local relevancy for a high-growth strategy, brand equity, lead the delivery of insights that contribute to breakthrough product and service innovation, customer experience, communication, P&L and cost efficiency.
  • They will be responsible for budget planning, and thus need understanding of the P&L, as it relates to marketing spends, ROIs and prioritization for impact.
  • They will have experience in building, leading, and executing marketing plans that achieve our ambitious sell-through plans and set Shark and Ninja up to win across online and offline channels, and achieve ambitious market share growth targets. To be obsessed with a Sell-out mindset focusing on Customers’ experiences, engagement, recruitment, conversion & retention
  • Support and direct distributors with guidance across direct to consumer, retail, and trade, to ensure a cohesive 360 marketing plan.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing and product marketing team, fostering professional growth and cultivating a culture of creativity and accountability.

Marketing

  • Develop, execute and review captivating marketing campaigns to engage consumers and drive brand loyalty, cooperating with Distributors to ensure an aligned marketing plan that amplifies reach.
  • Lead and develop overall marketing capabilities and build strong collaboration and alignment with external and internal key stakeholders (distributor, regional and global cross functional team) to ensure brand strategy aligns with overall vision and business objectives, while being aligned with global standards.
  • Guide various agencies (Media, Social, PR, etc.) to maximize performance within the given budgets. Ensure effective agency briefings, to ensure on-brand and on-target messaging from day 1.
  • Create go-to-market plans and ensure all channels (offline and online) are ready to execute, and collaborate with the distributor to streamline the go-to-market process, ensuring product launches are timely, impactful, and well-supported.
  • Ideate, plan and execute PR events/initiative that drive SharkNinja’s brand awareness within the given region, including needle-moving strategies for HERO product launches.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with influencers and industry leaders to amplify our brand presence and reach new audiences. Collaborate with Distributors on content strategy and ensure a constant stream is available through our online channels.
  • Ensure retail execution excellence with fixtures that follow the brand guidelines and are executed on the ground to the high level expected of Shark Ninja.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions and merchandising initiatives, providing recommendations for optimization.

Product Assortment Strategy

  • Portfolio Management Experience- ownership & management of product assortment & product strategy. Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Keen to understand product features and compare vs competitors, deep dive into the pain points SharkNinja products solve, and their USPs vs. competitors.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer insights to identify opportunities for campaign innovation and differentiation, ensuring our small appliances remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Be involved and embedded in consumer insights and research studies to inform product assortment and product needs

Performance Monitoring and Reporting & Financial Accountability

  • Achieve revenue, profit, and market share targets while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing initiatives, providing regular reports on campaign effectiveness, ROI, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Create and maintain weekly/monthly reporting for all marketing channels, have a clear understanding of ROAS, ROIs for each campaign, and hold distributor accountable for their marketing spend
  • Provide regular updates and reports on the performance of the distribution market segment to senior leadership and other key stakeholders

What requirements are we looking at?

  • 5-8+ years of proven experience in marketing leadership as a head of marketing or equivalent level. FMCG background is strongly preferred but would be open to non-traditional CPG experience such as electronics, beauty, lifestyle marketing experience.
  • ASEAN regional experience in a marketing leadership role is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams internally and externally with vision, clarity and collaboration
  • A growth mindset and the ability to navigate through ambiguity, while multi-tasking different country priorities and projects
  • Proven track record in end-to-end in go-to-market planning and execution, preferably in well-established consumer goods or food and beverage
  • Strategic Brand Management: Experience in shaping brand identity and positioning, with a strategic mindset for maintaining brand differentiation in a competitive market.
  • Product Strategy: Experience in creating a product roadmap, based on customer insights, and ensuring on time launches.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Demonstrated ability to work closely with product marketing teams, global brand, and communications teams to launch innovative products.
  • Solid knowledge in Retail Excellence and Retail Operation
  • Partnership Development: Experience in forging strategic partnerships with influencers, industry leaders, and third-party agencies to amplify brand presence and extend reach.
  • Market and Consumer Insight Analysis: Strong analytical skills to interpret market trends and consumer insights, identifying opportunities for campaign innovation and differentiation.
  • Agency Management: Experience leading third-party marketing agencies across various portfolios, including retail, trade, PR, and media.
  • Knows when and how to raise critical issues.
  • Smart and with a high degree of intellectual and strategic ability, able to lead both the big strategic picture and comfortable and able to manage the operational aspects of implementation and delivery of detailed projects
