- Positioning Singapore as an active and constructive global citizen in support of global efforts to address climate change. • Coordinating Singapore's negotiating strategies and positions on climate change and sustainable development, in close consultation with the relevant divisions within MSE and other agencies • Leading the inter-agency negotiations on adaptation and Loss and Damage at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conferences of the Parties (UNFCCC COPs) and other international meetings, e.g. G20 • Coordinating preparations for and staffing of Ministerial visits, including the participation of MSE Political Office Holders' participation in climate-related international meetings • Supporting MSE's engagement with other bilateral and regional/international partners, and international and non-governmental organisations to strengthen cooperation and advance global climate action
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline. • At least 5-8 years of working experience, preferably with some involvement in international relations and multilateral/UN work • Strong interest in climate change and sustainable development issues • Excellent proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written, and ability to articulate and convey ideas/arguments cogently and persuasively • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Good inter-personal and networking skills to foster effective and enduring collaborations and partnerships • Independent, operationally steadfast and resourceful
