
Project/Installation Engineer, Railway Communication System
The Role:
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and resourcefully, with strong supervisory skills.
• Comfortable working alone or with a small team.
• Maintain a pleasant personality to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, addressing their expectations and contractual requirements.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills, including active listening and clear speaking, to explain technical information to customers and subcontractors.
• Utilize strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues that arise during installation.
• Proficient in reading and understanding installation manuals and instructions to ensure efficient and effective completion of work.
• Design and drafting of cabling installation diagrams.
• Conduct site surveys to develop deployment plans in collaboration with the implementation team.
• Coordinate with other contractors and subcontractors to ensure smooth project completion within time and budget constraints.
• Supervise teams of subcontractors for installation works, including cable containment, support, cabling, racks, and cabinets.
• Ensuring the safety of workers.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety and efficiency codes.
• Work with contractors and architects during construction to ensure accurate execution of plans.
• Update Project Manager/Implementation Manager on daily and monthly progress for report generation.
• Assist the system design team in preparing and reviewing documents and drawings, such as single-line diagrams and FAT plans.
• Support the system design team in conducting testing and commissioning after successful implementation.
• Perform maintenance on existing equipment or facilities to ensure proper operation.
The Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
• Preference for candidates with experience in LTA railway projects.
• Knowledge of communication systems is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in installing or designing electrical and communication infrastructures.
• Ability to prepare, draw, and update single-line diagrams.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work outside of prime office hours, as required.
• Self-motivated and service-oriented.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
