We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP HANA Database Administrator to join our team in Singapore. This role requires a hands-on expert in database management, particularly with HANA and MS-SQL databases, who can support mission-critical systems in a 24x7 environment. The ideal candidate will be a Singapore Citizen with a valid CAT 2A clearance (or eligible to obtain one), bringing strong technical know-how, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to ensure high availability and performance of our database systems.
Responsibilities
- Address and resolve database-related incidents swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Monitor system events and handle alerts to maintain optimal database health.
- Manage and resolve database outages, ensuring quick service restoration.
- Process service requests for changes, enhancements, and standard implementations.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of incidents.
- Support and implement both standard and custom database builds.
- Provide operational support for SAP HANA and MS-SQL databases.
- Maintain strict adherence to established backup and recovery protocols.
- Optimize database performance and maintain effective alert monitoring.
- Execute proper decommissioning of systems and servers as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business continuity and performance improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be a Singapore Citizen with CAT-2A clearance or eligible to obtain one.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in HANA and MS-SQL database administration.
- Proficiency in RDBMS management and administration across public or private cloud infrastructures.
- Sound understanding of backup, recovery, and decommissioning processes.
- Experience in incident management and performance tuning in a 24x7 production environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and best practices for database health.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced support environment.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for managing incidents and service requests.
