Role: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Oracle Database Administrators to join a high-performing team supporting mission-critical environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in Oracle database technologies and a proactive mindset for database performance, availability, and security in both on-premises and cloud environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases (12c, 19c, and later) in production and development environments.
  • Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
  • Design and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backup strategies using tools like RMAN and Data Guard.
  • Automate routine database operations using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Ansible.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and perform database migrations (on-premises and cloud).
  • Enforce database security policies, access controls, and user role management.
  • Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • Serve as L3 support for escalated incidents and lead root cause analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for seamless integration.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support weekend deployments as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of architectures, procedures, and configurations for auditing and knowledge sharing.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or L3-level role.
  • Expertise in Oracle components: ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle internals and diagnostic tools: AWR, ASH, TKPROF, etc.
  • Experience with cloud-based Oracle deployments: OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure Database for Oracle.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
  • Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar) for automation and monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in high-availability environments.
