Role: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Oracle Database Administrators to join a high-performing team supporting mission-critical environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in Oracle database technologies and a proactive mindset for database performance, availability, and security in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Oracle databases (12c, 19c, and later) in production and development environments.
- Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Design and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backup strategies using tools like RMAN and Data Guard.
- Automate routine database operations using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Ansible.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and perform database migrations (on-premises and cloud).
- Enforce database security policies, access controls, and user role management.
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations.
- Serve as L3 support for escalated incidents and lead root cause analysis activities.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for seamless integration.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support weekend deployments as needed.
- Maintain documentation of architectures, procedures, and configurations for auditing and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or L3-level role.
- Expertise in Oracle components: ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle internals and diagnostic tools: AWR, ASH, TKPROF, etc.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle deployments: OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure Database for Oracle.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar) for automation and monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in high-availability environments.
