Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Oversight and Resource Management
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive budgeting strategies for all operational areas, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with financial goals.
Lead the planning, allocation, and optimization of company resources to ensure effective utilization across the organization.
Implement data-driven decision-making processes for resource allocation, leveraging financial insights to prioritize initiatives and pivot strategies when necessary.
Monitor financial performance across operational areas, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
2. Operational Excellence and Process Improvement
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing streamlined processes across operational teams.
Implement operational excellence methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen to drive measurable improvements in efficiency and quality.
Standardize best practices and ensure their consistent application across operational areas, including lab operations, procurement, and IT.
3. Leadership and Strategic Planning
Collaborate with the COS and senior leadership to define and execute the operational strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Act as a key advisor to the COS on operational matters, providing data-driven recommendations to improve business performance and drive change.
4. Risk Management and Business Continuity
Lead Business Continuity Management (BCM) activities to ensure uninterrupted operations during adverse events or disruptions.
Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of risks across operations, including financial, operational, regulatory, and strategic risks.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to proactively address risks associated with procurement, IT, lab operations, and resource management.
Qualifications:
At least a Master?s degree in Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in managing resources, laboratory operations, procurement, IT, and driving process improvements.
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of driving team performance and engagement.
Deep understanding of operational excellence frameworks and the ability to implement continuous process improvement initiatives.
Experience in Business Continuity Management (BCM), Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and risk mitigation strategies.
Strong problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and a results-oriented mindset.
Experience with procurement oversight and aligning purchasing activities with organizational priorities.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in laboratory and IT operations.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a technology-driven or scientific industry, particularly in research, development, or manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of laboratory management systems, procurement software, and IT infrastructure management.
Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
