Manulife is seeking for a talent individual who assists the Chief Risk Officer HK & Macau and Head of Asia Operations Risk Management in overseeing operational risk management activities for life businesses in Asia Segment. Particularly this position is accountable for on-going monitoring of various top risks and launching of key risk management initiatives or campaigns. The role plays an important part in the Risk Management family, to collaborate with other business functions in performing risk and impact analysis and assess potential implications / enhancements to existing controls and business processes.
Position Responsibilities:
Work closely with other functions to promote risk culture throughout the organization
Take the lead in utilizing GenAI and machine learning to assess, mitigate, and manage operational risks within Asia Segment
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop tailored risk management solution leveraging on technology
Review and challenge the risk deliverables submitted by business functions
Establish risk monitoring processes to track the effectiveness of risk controls
Provide independent oversight & challenge on the Risk and Control Self-Assessment conducted by first line of defense
Ongoing enhancement of various operational risk management tools
Prepare materials for general training and other risk-awareness initiatives to promote risk programs
Required Qualifications:
Degree holder with approximately 10+ years’ experience in operational risk management gained in insurance or financial services industry
Strong team player, self-motivated, attention to details and able to work under pressure
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new risk management strategies
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese
