This position is responsible on managing Japanese clients in Singapore and the Asia/Oceania region, taking full responsibility for all clients matters, including claims.

  1. At least 7 years of working experience in the general insurance industry and
  2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in handling and focusing in serving Japanese corporate clients
  • To review all renewal policies & to recommend new cover (if any) and to improve coverage , if necessary
  • To review coverage and rates for unfavorable loss ratio clients, and to take necessary measures together with Claim/Risk Engineering division timely when needed
  • To maintain and develop strong business relationships with existing and new clients
  • To expand the current pool of clients by building and maintaining strong relationships as well as coordinating various activities with these major clients
  • To provide guidance and technical assistance through direct involvement with the staff when they encounter with difficulties and complex issues at work
  • To establish a comprehensive continuity and training plan to boost staff productivity , flexibility, skills and knowledge enabling them to adapt to changing business and customer needs.
  • To work on the World-Wide Program, offering professional advice and facilitating the World-Wide communication across Sompo Group.
  • To build good business relationship for both new and existing networks.
  • This position requires in-depth understanding of the general insurance market of the world and knowledge about specific Marine insurance provided in Singapore and in Japan as the objective is to transfer and impart knowledge to the staff to enable them to forge new business partners.
  • Due to the position’s requirement to communicate with Headquarters and handle Japanese clients in both Singapore and Japan, the Japanese Language skills and proficiency are required.
  • Understanding and interacting with Japanese corporate clients for a minimum of 5 years in marketing and/or business development for these businesses.
  • Familiar with World Wide Program Knowledge about General Insurance business, including reinsurance and business development in Marine insurance
  • The importance of teamwork, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a willingness to learn and contribute is of utmost importance such as proactive initiative and continuous improvement in a business environment.
  • Regional business travelling may be required
