Food Preparation:
- Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, measuring spices, and marinating meats.
- Follow recipes and instructions to help cook dishes under the direction of chefs or cooks.
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Keep kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
- Ensure the kitchen area is organized and free from hazards.
Stock Management:
- Help with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating stock.
- Keep track of supplies and alert the kitchen manager when items are running low.
Food Safety:
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, cooking, and storage of food.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to prevent contamination.
Assisting Other Staff:
- Support chefs and cooks by providing them with necessary tools and ingredients.
- Assist with plating and garnishing dishes as needed.
Kitchen Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, and food processors.
- Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate person.
Adhering to Policies:
Follow all kitchen policies and procedures, including safety protocols and dress code.
