The Community Ambassador is the first point of contact for visitors and SAS families. This position supports the vision and mission of SAS through engaging interactions with current and prospective families. This position establishes a positive and welcoming environment for all visitors to SAS Central Administration and Admissions; while demonstrating the highest degree of extraordinary care and customer focus. Responsibilities include both project based work and clerical support to the Central Administration Office.
Responsibilities:
- Establish a positive and welcoming environment for visitors to the Advancement Office, SAS Central Administration and the Admissions Office.
- Greet and receive all SAS visitors, guests, employees and community members in a courteous and welcoming manner. Ensure that guests have a pleasant departure experience.
- Relate to students, parents, colleagues, visitors and community members with enthusiasm for the school, empathy as needed and a demonstrated strong service excellence mindset.
- Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador to direct, guide, and connect visitors and current parents, as appropriate, to the relevant offices and departments.
- Lead drop-in tours for visiting families
- Co-lead Central Admin tours for parent perspective
- Coordinate all required details for community engagement events
- Readily assist other members of the administrative staff, the Advancement Office, Central Office Administration and Division Administrators, as necessary.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality of information and correspondence and fulfill all responsibilities while abiding by the policies, school regulations and school values.
- Anticipate needs within the community and proactively suggest areas for continued improvements.
- Answer general calls to Central Administration
- Receive mail, packages, deliveries, and tenders and distributes accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Parent Engagement Lead and Director of Communications.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma from a recognized Institution/polytechnic
- Current or past member of the SAS Community
- Excellent customer service skills and a high standard of professionalism
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship and collaboration skills
- Proactive with an ability to place the needs of the customer first
- Strong organizational and office management and clerical skills
- Experience with Google documents, calendar, and office applications
- Demonstrates a positive, solution driven, “can do” attitude with a strong interest in continuing to learn and develop
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and priorities concurrently
- Solid communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Proficient in speaking Mandarin, Korean or Japanese may be an advantage
