
Accounts and Finance Manager - Shah Alam (Native Mandarin speakers)
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Accounting Operations
Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including:
Monthly and year-end processes
Accounts payable and receivable
Cash receipts and general ledger
Payroll and utilities
Treasury, budgeting, and cash forecasting
Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
Capital assets and trust account reconciliations
Fixed asset and debt activity management
Monitor and analyze accounting data, preparing financial reports and statements.
Review financial documents before submission to Management and HQ in Japan.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting.
Review and approve salary disbursements and other payables.
Oversee cash flow planning and propose financing solutions when required.
Compliance, Auditing & Process Improvement
Ensure the successful continuation of the accounting outsourcing project (from Regional HQ in Singapore) and support regional finance activities in Southeast Asia.
Meet financial accounting objectives and maintain accurate fiscal records.
Prepare annual business plans and five-year financial plans.
Coordinate and complete annual audits and tax computations.
Establish and enforce proper accounting policies, methods, and principles.
Improve financial systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions as needed.
Strategic Financial Planning & Advisory
Provide financial recommendations to Management regarding asset management, budgeting, and financial positioning.
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance with Internal Controls, Corporate Accounting Regulations, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
Manage the accounting software system.
Coordinate Board of Directors (BOD) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) meetings, including documentation compilation.
Work closely with the Company Secretary to comply with the Companies Act requirements.
Requirements:
Education: Degree in Accounting / Finance, Professional Accounting qualification.
Experience:
Prior experience leading an Accounts team (managing at least two executives).
Experience in tax computation, external audit financial statement preparation, liaising with the company secretary, and preparing BOD accounting reports.
Some knowledge of project accounting/cost accounting (e.g., profit/loss by sales order, work-in-progress tracking, labour and transportation costs, variance analysis).
Experience working with regional group companies is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
Ability to manipulate large data sets.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, regulations, and laws.
Language Proficiency:
Fluent in English.
Proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese is an added advantage.
