UWCSEA East is looking for a Lead Football Coach to join its East Campus from August 2025.

The role is a Lead Football Coach for UWCSEA East International School, Singapore and it will be reporting to the Head of Football. The Lead Football Coach must have a good knowledge of working with mixed ability players aged between 4 -18 year old, plus adult football programmes.

Main Responsibilities

  • To deliver football sessions in line with UWCSEA (East) standards, expectations and curriculum, maintaining the highest levels of safety and security to players with varied experience and ability, ranging from beginners to invitational team players. Sessions will be delivered at a variety of venues around Singapore and will be delivered either in person or virtually.
  • Monitor and assess player progress using observation tools and player development framework. Provide regular feedback to players and parents to support individual growth and performance objectives.
  • Participate in regular programme evaluations and staff performance reviews based on agreed items including player retention, session quality, safety compliance and community engagement.
  • To actively recruit players for all UWCSEA (East) programmes by conducting player identification activities including tryouts, open days and taster activities.
  • Deliver mixed ability weeklong football camps at a variety of locations around Singapore.
  • To organise and travel to fixtures both locally and internationally while managing a team of players and support staff and upholding all duty of care and safeguarding policies and protocols.
  • To deliver sessions within the UWCSEA East PE department K-12 curriculum, following the PE curriculum.
  • A heavy focus of the programme is engaging with community members and groups outside of the UWCSEA community as part of the Service and Sustainability mission of the college. Sessions will be delivered to external community groups including minority or marginalised groups and individuals.
  • Active participation in talent identification, recruitment and onboarding of part time staff, mentoring and conducting periodised peer to peer feedback, provide session planning support in line with UWCSEA (East) coaching standards and expectations for all part time staff.
  • An important part of this responsibility is providing a clear weekly and quarterly staff schedule all within agreed staff cost budgets.
  • All programmes will be delivered and run in line with UWCSEA (East) values, standards, policies and procedures. This member of staff will be required to support any information to adapt policies and procedures in line with local or national legislation for the country the football activity is taking place within. Timely escalation reports of any accidents, incidents and near misses are very important to this role to maintain safety and security of the programme.
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with parents, players, colleagues and partners to ensure communication channels are clear between staff and customers.
  • Record keeping of attendance, safe entry of staff and students.
  • Conduct market research and report on opportunities to develop the programme with new business ideas within agreed deadlines with effective communication and presentation, providing accurate information in an efficient and well presented manner.
  • Create and share promotional materials for the programme including sharing on business social media pages and websites and direct person to person distribution, all within brand guidelines.
  • Maintenance and ordering of equipment, kit and any additional materials required for the business.
  • General administrational duties required to operate the business including responding to emails, telephone calls and person to person meetings with staff, customers and partners. At times extra responsibilities will be required depending on the needs of the business and environment.
  • Adhere to all UWCSEA East’s policies, procedures and safeguarding protocols.

Person Specifications

  • First aid and AED qualified.
  • Football Association of Singapore ‘C’ License (or equivalent).
  • NROC registered.
  • Minimum 5 years coaching with experience of delivering a football development programme from a syllabus to mixed ability and advanced players between the ages of 4-18 year olds.
  • Experience of working with different cultures.
  • Good understanding of Google Suites, including forms, gmail, google sheets and google docs.
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines across different projects, managing timelines is key to completing this role.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently but at the same time a team player.
  • To be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business with typical working hours being 6 day week totalling 40 hours per week. This coach will be required to work until 22:00 on up to three days per week and a full day on Saturdays and Sundays. This coach's typical day off will be a Friday.
