Key Responsibilities:
Assist in food preparation and cooking according to Candlenut’s standards.
Ensure consistency and quality in every dish served.
Work closely with the team to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Uphold hygiene and safety standards as per SFA regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations.
Contribute to a positive work culture by supporting and respecting fellow teammates.
Be willing to learn and grow within the team, embracing new techniques and processes.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock ordering and management.
Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality and freshness.
Follow proper food storage procedures to maintain optimal ingredient quality.
Assist in developing and testing new menu items alongside senior chefs.
Ensure proper portioning and plating presentation of dishes.
Support special events, private dining, and catering functions when required.
Adhere to kitchen operational standards, including waste management and sustainability practices.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year in similar capacity and experience.
A culinary school certification or a diploma is a plus. Practical experience and basic education will also be considered.
Passion for cooking and a keen interest in Peranakan cuisine.
Substantial knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
A strong team player with a positive mindset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong sense of responsibility.
