IT Infrastructure Engineer

Ipeco Holdings Limited was founded in 1960. More than 50 years on it is still a privately owned UK company. We are engaged in the design, development, manufacture and test of niche products for the aerospace and defence industries. Principal products include aircraft crew seating, executive passenger seating, galley inserts, salt bath brazed chassis and electronic power management systems.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Working alongside the global Infrastructure Team, the IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, build, deployment, maintenance, and security of the IT infrastructure across the Group. This includes maintaining core IT systems and networks, timely resolution of security alerts, as well as ensuring a high level of security and compliance with various IT standards is maintained.
In addition, the IT Infrastructure Engineer will provide critical support to end-users, ensuring operational efficiency and minimising disruption.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain the performance and security of networking infrastructure across the Group
- Maintain servers, and other IT hardware across the Group
- Upgrade server OS’s remotely
- Proactive planning, support and organizing to be flexible and adaptable in meeting the changing needs of the organization
- Troubleshoot WAN, server, switch and other network component performance
- Backup and replication management and disaster recovery
- Respond to infrastructure alerts, taking action to ensure satisfactory infrastructure uptime
- Respond to security alerts, taking action to mitigate any risk
- Travel to other sites to maintain, upgrade, migrate networks
- Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT infrastructure
- Manage and complete various IT projects
- Actively participate in the IT end-user support line during standard business hours.
- Learn new technologies when applicable to the Group IT network
- To support team members with other tasks as and when necessary
- To help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety Procedures
- To ensure all Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to
- Willing to support out of hours tasks, escalated out of hours issues and respond to any out of hours ‘system down or security’ incidents and / or major incidents,
- To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- VMWare (Desirable)
- CCNA (Desirable)
- Microsoft certifications for Windows Server / Azure (Desirable)
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS:
- Proficient in VMware and/or a comparable virtualization technology
- Experience of working in a 3rd Line Infrastructure role
- Proficient in the management of Active Directory (including on prem AD services such as DNS, DHCP, RADIUS etc)
- Proficient in Windows Server OS management / upgrades / migration
- Proficient in cloud hosting technologies such as AWS / Azure / GCP (Azure preferred)
- Proficient in the management and administration of Office 365
- Proficient in managing firewalls, routers, switches and other network infrastructure (Cisco Meraki)
- Extensive experience of the Windows operating system
- Fluent in English Language
- Ability to speak Mandarin / Cantonese (Desirable)
- Passport for international travel
- Ability and enthusiastic approach to pick up new technologies and learn them
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
DESIRABLE EXPEREINCE/ SKILLS:
- Awareness of enterprise hardware such as virtual hosts, SAN’s etc
- Awareness of IT security standards (ISO, NIST)
- Understanding and experience of ITIL and project management methodologies
- Ability to speak Mandarin / Cantonese
