This position is responsible for the research and development of new products and make improvements to existing products (where applicable). This role must be on the pulse with food trends and have high requirements for taste palates and sensory sensitivity to ensure high quality and consistency of products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source for ingredients and for new products

• Plan and organize food tasting and sensory evaluation

• Work effectively with inter-departments on the development and launch of new products / improved products (e.g. product training, product photography, etc)

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Creative food presentation and food photo shoot or video

• Make recommendations on process improvement related to equipment, machine, and new technology

• Maintain proper documentation on costing, formulations and other related supporting documents

• Ad hoc duties/projects assigned by Manager

To assist Manager with:

• Research and development of new products and improve existing products

• Develop new products in accordance with development requests (e.g. new concepts, market trends, etc)

• Improve existing product recipes based on sensory testing and consumer data

• Conduct market research and survey on new products (e.g. competitors’, food presentation, etc)

• Create SOP – Job card for each new produce

• Process and cost control management

• Evaluate and exercise cost control in new and improved product formulations

• Constantly review and improve product formulations to meet compliance needs (e.g. SOPs on quality, food presentation, etc)

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity in food factory

• Passionate about food product development

• Creative in food preparation and presentation

• Possess good initiative, responsible and meticulous

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills

• 5.5 Day Work Week (Alt Sat)
