Job Title: Asst. Marine Technician / Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities
This full-time Assistant Marine Technician/Engineer role will require you to report to the Senior Engineer. You will play a crucial part in supporting the maintenance and repair of steering gears and deck machineries onboard the marine vessels, ensuring they are operating efficiently and safely. This is a great opportunity for individuals with limited experience to start their career in marine engineering.
As a Marine Engineer, you will be involved in:
What you'll be doing:
Assist in the inspection, maintenance, repair, overhaul and servicing steering gears (Hydraulic Steering Gear System) and deck machinery onboard vessels.
Conducting maintenance and repairs to ensure the equipment operates efficiently.
Working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, often under pressure.
Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on vessels.
Conduct annual tests on steering gear/deck machinery, as well as any required service calls.
Plan, organize, and operate steering gear/deck machinery and related equipment based on requirements.
Maintain proper equipment operation, accurate records and documentation of all work carried out .
Adhere to all health, safety standards and environmental regulations ensuring safe operations.
Ensure general cleanliness of the workstation and execute ad-hoc tasks assigned by superior.
What we're looking for
No prior experience required
Experience in a similar marine technician/engineer role or a strong interest in marine engineering and a willingness to learn.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Good communications skills to explain technical issues.
Physically fit and able to work in challenging, sometimes fast-paced environments.
Highly motivated, work independently with minimum supervision. Familiar with general maintenance processes and methods
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent work attitude.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Willing to work on weekends/PH/onboard vessels/travel (whenever required)
Singaporeans/PR only.
