About the opportunity
The Future Students and Outreach portfolio (VPFS&O) at Southern Cross University incorporates domestic and global recruitment, digital transformation initiatives, customer experience, brand reputation and marketing communications, media relations, alumni, philanthropy, and developing strategic partnerships to strengthen the University’s presence. This role sits within our Marketing, Digital, and Communications area and will work in-step with Marketing Managers to develop integrated plans.
Southern Cross University is seeking an Alumni Experience Coordinator to join our Marketing, Digital, and Communications area, who will focus on implementing Alumni engagement strategies. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and execution of the Alumni Strategy, including events, communication, marketing campaigns, and engagement initiatives to strengthen alumni relations
- Collaborate with key staff and stakeholders to design and implement a diverse range of alumni programs, such as mentoring, networking, and professional development opportunities
- Oversee the management of communication channels (website, social media, and e-newsletters) to ensure effective segmented and engaging content for alumni
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance alumni and related advocacy programs, ensuring the expansion of available resources and benefits for alumni
- Manage and optimise the alumni database, leveraging data and research tools to generate insights, improve segmentation, and track program performance and engagement metrics
About you
You will play a key role in driving the Alumni Strategy by coordinating events, campaigns, and partnerships to engage Southern Cross University alumni both nationally and internationally. Working collaboratively with teams across the University, you will help expand the alumni relations program and foster lasting connections that contribute to growth and success. More specifically, you will have:
- A relevant degree in marketing, communication, public relations, business, or related fields, along with subsequent professional experience or equivalent expertise in these areas.
- Proven ability to manage or lead projects effectively, achieving desired outcomes while meeting deadlines and staying within budget. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills across various mediums, with a keen attention to detail. Experience in producing marketing and promotional materials, ensuring clarity and engagement.
- Proficiency in content and customer relationship management systems, databases, and the Microsoft Office suite (including advanced Excel). Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to operate both independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities effectively
Salary and benefits

- Full-time, fixed term (12 Months)
- Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480.
- HEW 6. The base salary ranges from $92,716 - $101,691 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $118,978.
