Role Responsibilities

  • Cloud Cost Management
    • Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending across platforms (eg. AWS, Azure).
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement optimization strategies (eg. reserved instances, spot instances, rightsizing).
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track cloud spending and forecast future costs.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Optimization
    • Work with technical teams to optimize cloud resource utilization and improve efficiency.
    • Implement automation tools and scripts to manage and optimize cloud resources.
    • Conduct regular audits of cloud environments to ensure compliance with cost management policies.
  • Financial Operations
    • Ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and cost allocation across cloud services.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders to support decision-making.
    • Use historical data and predictive analytics to forecast future cloud spending and support capacity planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication
    • Partner with project, operations, and finance teams to align cloud spending with business objectives.
    • Educate teams on cloud cost management best practices and tools.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on cloud financial operations and cost optimization.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Generate regular reports on cloud spending, savings, and trends for leadership and stakeholders.
    • Provide actionable insights to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvemet
    • Keep up-to-date with the latest cloud pricing models, cost optimization techniques, and FinOps best practices.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve cloud cost management processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud cost management, financial operations, or cloud engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (eg. AWS, Azure).
  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing models, billing, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (eg. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certifications are highly desirable.
  • Additional certifications in DevOps, cloud architecture, or financial management are a plus.
