Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across multiple regions/countries (as applicable).
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, including data validation, processing, reporting, compliance, and post-payroll activities.
  • Manage payroll using Workday (or Workday Payroll/Workday HCM), including system configuration, data maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment on employee data, benefits, compensation changes, and cost allocations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations, including tax filings and statutory reporting.
  • Review and approve payroll reconciliations, journals, and audit reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in payroll processes.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues or discrepancies.
  • Train new team members and develop ongoing training plans for the payroll team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 7 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong experience with Workday Payroll and/or Workday HCM is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team and work cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
  • Experience with multi-country payroll is a plus.
