Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across multiple regions/countries (as applicable).
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, including data validation, processing, reporting, compliance, and post-payroll activities.
- Manage payroll using Workday (or Workday Payroll/Workday HCM), including system configuration, data maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment on employee data, benefits, compensation changes, and cost allocations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations, including tax filings and statutory reporting.
- Review and approve payroll reconciliations, journals, and audit reports.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in payroll processes.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues or discrepancies.
- Train new team members and develop ongoing training plans for the payroll team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 7 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong experience with Workday Payroll and/or Workday HCM is required.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team and work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
- Experience with multi-country payroll is a plus.
