Community Technician (Handyman)

Role PurposeThe Community Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of our existing properties through proactive and preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and quality service.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Maintenance & Repairs (60%)
- Perform hands-on general repairs, including:
- Simple carpentry (furniture repair, fixtures installation)
- Electrical services (replacing sockets, light bulbs, troubleshooting minor wiring issues)
- Plumbing (declogging, fixing minor leaks)
- Painting (touch-ups and minor wall repairs)
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms, furniture, and fixtures to identify defects.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
2. Ticketing & Reporting (20%)
- Manage and update job request ticketing system to track maintenance tasks.
- Ensure work is properly documented with status updates and completion reports.
- Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend long-term solutions.
3. Compliance & Safety (10%)
- Ensure all work complies with WSH (Workplace Safety & Health) guidelines.
- Follow proper procedures when handling electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Report any potential safety hazards to the Operations Manager.
4. Ad-Hoc Support (10%)
- Assist in moving and assembling furniture for new tenants.
- Support the operations team with special projects (e.g., renovation touch-ups).
Key RequirementsExperience & Skills:
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience as a handyman, building services technician, or related trade.
Skilled in using hardware tools and equipment.
Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
Able to work quickly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Comfortable using a computer to manage job tickets and daily schedules.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
.Certifications Required:
- Electrical Worker License (LEW – Licensed Electrician, Grade 7)
- WSQ Apply Waterproofing for Internal Wet Areas (for bathroom/kitchen waterproofing) or BCA Certificate in Waterproofing Supervision (for advanced waterproofing of roofs, walls, and basements).
Certifications (Preferred):
- Licensed Plumber (LP) (Public Utilities Board)
- WSQ Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) certification
- Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) certification (for AC servicing)
Other Requirements:
- Possession of personal transport (motorbike or van) is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Task Completion Rate: Reactive- < 3 daysPreventive- closed <7 days from the schedule
Response Time: Urgent maintenance requests responded to within 2 hours.
Ticket Accuracy: Proper documentation of 100% of job requests in the system.
Tenant Satisfaction: Maintain an average rating of 4/5 on maintenance-related feedback.
Safety Compliance: 0 incidents of workplace safety violations.

Pay: Up to $2,500.00 per month
