Position Summary:
A Staff Scientist, Biostatistics will work collaboratively in a matrix environment and provide expertise in statistical analysis for microarray product development and manufacturing. You will help to develop pipeline of products to meet our mission for quality – right the first time with the customer in mind.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide statistical support for new product introductions (NPI) and on-market products, particularly manufacturing process quality control.
Design statistical aspects of studies, write analysis plans/reports, perform quality control of results, compile and read out the findings and conclusions for various projects.
Develop of new statistical methodology for measurement and analysis of data.
Apply advanced statistical methods, which may include simulation models and other statistical programming as needed.
Assess relevant literature, guidelines as well as existing data, evaluate the quality of data generated and used in reports.
Make original contributions to research projects and take initiative in professional activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on study designs, strategies, and analysis approaches consistent with the best statistical practices and regulatory requirements. Provide interpretation of data and support troubleshooting
Education/Experience Requirements:
MS degree with 5+ years of industry experience or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field required
Required: at least 5 years of applied statistical experience
Extensive experience with at least one major statistical software package such as Stata, SAS or R is required.
Familiarity with manufacturing or quality process control is preferred
Familiarity with genetics, biochemistry, or molecular biology is a plus.
Experience with data science techniques including machine learning and associated software is a plus.
Familiarity with product development and/or project management
Independent with problem-solving and continuous improvement attitude
Other Proficiencies
Must be highly organized and meticulous, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Must possess strong communication skills
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed team environment is required
