PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This position will play a critical role in managing and expanding key accounts, and will be responsible for driving commercial success by securing new business, deepening customer relationships, and optimizing long-term partnerships. A hands-on individual who is able to provide service excellence to customers by understanding their requirements and proposing a suite of Sembcorp services and sustainable solutions for their business operations.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management & Business Development
  • Establish and maintain consultative relationships with existing and potential customers, also serve as the focal point between internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Own and develop a strategic account plan for assigned customers, including needs analysis, growth strategy, and renegotiation plans with the aim to convert the customer into a long-term partnership with Sembcorp and maximize customer lifetime value.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, driving growth through cross-selling and bundled solutions (e.g., utilities, gas, electricity, solar)
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management for key accounts, including renewals, pricing strategy, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution.
  • Lead customers engagement programs and conduct analysis on customers’ feedback.
Commercial & Contract Management
  • Develop techno-commercial proposals, perform financial evaluation, negotiate and conclude contractual terms with customers.
  • Perform techno-commercial feasibility studies for new investments and/or contract renewals and prepare investment papers for approval.
  • Prepare, propose and negotiate commercial contracts with customers, including the development of customer-led strategies and preparation of customized pricing proposals.
Technical & Industry Expertise
  • Manage the sales cycle and business development process of new opportunities in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g. asset management, legal, risk, finance, etc.) to ensure proposals for new commercial deal/renewals or solutions to meet customers’ needs are technically feasible, optimized and commercially viable.
  • Deep understanding of Sembcorp’s utilities assets/product offers (such as steam and water/waste water solutions) and the petrochemical industry and be capable of positioning Sembcorp’s value in the sales/business development cycle process to differentiate Sembcorp from competition.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Chemical, Environmental or Engineering fields
  • Preferably at least 5 years in a utilities-related field
  • Commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiations and financial evaluations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive, results-driven
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
