We are seeking a passionate IT Procurement Director to lead and transform our procurement strategies. This role involves developing and implementing regional IT procurement strategies aligned with the regional mid-term business plan and Global Enterprise Technology procurement strategy/plans, optimizing vendor relationships, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and industry standards. This role will manage a US$70M IT spend portfolio across MUFG Bank in the region. You will be a part of the Asia Technology committee leadership team to assist in shaping and driving Asia IT strategies.
Your role also plays a critical role in driving efficiency and effectiveness within Global Enterprise Technology Procurement, regional IT stakeholders, supporting in leading cross-category operational, tactical, and strategic initiatives. Acting as the key intermediary between APAC category members and Global Enterprise Technology Procurement, this role will ensure seamless collaboration, proactive process improvement, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
Regional Demand Analysis:
Dive deep into regional demand to uncover procurement needs and trends, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.
Category Strategy Development & Implementation:
Develop and execute innovative regional category strategies to streamline procurement processes and achieve significant cost savings.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high-quality service and product delivery. Engage in strategic planning, quarterly business reviews, and performance evaluations to keep everything on track .
Supplier Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks associated with suppliers, including those related to outsourcing, to safeguard our operations. Responsible for ASO – Singapore as TPRM owner.
Sourcing Strategy & Approach to Market:
Develop and execute dynamic sourcing strategies to secure the best value for the company. This includes competitive bidding processes and supplier selection.
Negotiation & Supplier Selection:
Lead high-stakes negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Select suppliers based on a comprehensive evaluation of their performance.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the IT / banking sector.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or A Master’s degree and certifications (CIPS) .
Experience in managing IT spend portfolios.
Strong ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with various teams.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive change across the organization and with external suppliers.
The candidate should be comfortable working in dynamic environments and capable of championing innovation, efficiency, and new ways of working within the team.
