[What you will be working on]
The Manager/Senior Manager in the Research Office of the Strategic Planning Division will play a pivotal role in advancing the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Research Agenda. This involves engaging with local and international research communities, identifying emerging trends in Continuing Education and Training (CET), and integrating research findings to inform policy and programme planning. The role requires a proactive approach in driving collaborations and translating research insights into actionable policies and programmes, aligned with SSG's mission to enhance Singapore's workforce skills development.
Research Engagement and Collaboration:
Advance SSG's Research Agenda by engaging with the local and international research community
Benchmark Singapore's progress and learn best practices through reviews and collaborations
Trend Analysis and Research Anticipation:
Identify and anticipate research interests and needs based on CET trends and insights from experts
Ensure the currency of SSG’s Research Agenda to inform policymaking and programme planning
Research Integration and Synthesis:
Integrate research findings and conduct literature reviews on priority areas in the CET landscape
Support policy reviews and implementations through comprehensive research syntheses
Collaboration and Translation of Research:
Drive collaboration with researchers and stakeholders to translate research findings into policies and programmes
Promote the application of research insights to enhance workforce skills development
Research Planning and Secretariat Duties:
Plan and implement research ideations and discussions with stakeholders
Perform secretariat duties for key meeting platforms, ensuring effective communication and coordination

The required competencies to execute the job duties proficiently
Strong ability to synthesise a broad range of information and logically structure findings
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities, often under tight deadlines
Proven experience in engaging stakeholders and driving fruitful collaborations
Resourcefulness and a strong drive to achieve results
Ability to anticipate needs and make informed judgement calls within the scope of responsibilities
Prior experience in research and/or managing research projects is advantageous
Proficiency in data analytics is appreciated

Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for an extension or be placed on a permanent tenure.
