This role is an urgent hire
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant for a chicken rice stall. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by supporting food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, cashiering and assisting in day-to-day tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with food preparation, such as chopping ingredients and preparing sauces and side dishes
• Follow recipes and cooking procedures to ensure consistency and quality of dishes
• Set up and maintain workstations and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Assist in taking orders and serving customers during peak hours.
• Collect payment from customers and perform other cashiering duties
• Package food for takeaways
• Assist with dishwashing and cleaning
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring that they are properly stored
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report shortages.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by the chef
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in a similar role
• Experience in cutting chicken or good knife skills is a strong advantage.
• Has Basic Food Hygiene Course or is willing to attend the course
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
Working Hours: 5.5 days/week - 8.30am to 6pm / 9am to 6.30pm / 11am to 8pm
Compensation: up to $2500
