Electrical Design Engineer (Switchgear)
Tasks & Responsibilities:
· Electrical Design Creation: Develop detailed electrical designs for switchgear components, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
· Schematic Development: Design and refine electrical schematics that address power distribution, protection, and control requirements effectively.
· Technical Drawing Management: Create and update technical drawings to reflect design changes, ensuring accuracy.
· Component Selection: Select and specify electrical components—such as circuit breakers, relays, and transformers—based on performance criteria and project needs.
· Specification Verification: Cross-check project specifications against tender drawings to ensure consistency and compliance.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical components into comprehensive switchgear systems.
· Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of electrical designs to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
· Prototype Development: Engage in the development and testing of prototypes to enhance and optimize electrical designs.
· Documentation Development: Create thorough design documentation, including electrical drawings, specifications, and test plans, while maintaining accurate records of design modifications.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about industry standards and regulations related to switchgear electrical design, ensuring products consistently meet or exceed these requirements.
· Field Participation: Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and site visits as needed to address issues and ensure project requirements are met.
· Project Documentation Preparation: Prepare and organize documentation required for project submissions, ensuring completeness and adherence to standards.
· Cost and Schedule Management: Monitor project costs to align with budgetary constraints and financial goals. Review project schedules to ensure timelines are met and identify potential delays.
· Component Order Management: Prepare and manage orders for components, ensuring timely procurement to support project timelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification, preferably with a major in electrical power engineering.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, etc., is a plus.
· Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD 2D/3D.
· Familiarity with switchgear industry standards, such as IEC and IEEE.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay: $3,500.00 - $4,000.00 per month
