The Director, General Medicines CGA is the communications and government affairs (CGA) business partner to our General Medicines business. As one of our three product areas at GSK, our broad portfolio of General Medicines products, many of them market leaders - make life better for millions of people all over the world.

You will support the SVP, General Medicines Global Product Strategy, be part of the General Medicines Leadership Team, and report to SVP, Corporate & Commercial Comms & Government Affairs. As CGA business partner to General Medicines leadership team (where needed), you will be accountable for communications about the General Medicines strategy across the internal stakeholders who support our General Medicines portfolio – ranging from commercial and medical to supply chain and tech. You will also be accountable for leading communications (and where needed government affairs) plans on issues required to support this broad reaching portfolio – which represents 92% of our total medicines and vaccines supply volume and are supplied in more than 100 countries. This will involve issues management and collaborating closely with our CGA people in the relevant markets across the world to lead engagement in support of the new commercial ambition.

You will also partner with our Product & Pipeline CGA team, who are accountable for comms and government affairs related to our pipeline and marketed portfolio, including those assets in General Medicines.

Key Responsibility

Portfolio Communications / Issues Management

  • This role will lead and coordinate communications on issues related to our General Medicines portfolio, whether related to supply chain, shortages, medical or otherwise, to ensure clear and proactive comms are deployed by our teams across the world. This requires cross-functional leadership on often complex and evolving issues and bringing a multi-stakeholder mindset to problem solving and communications.

Internal Communications and Engagement

  • This role translates the General Medicines commercial strategy into clearly articulated, patient-focused and motivating communication and engagement plans for the Global, Regional, Functional and LOC teams that help deliver the General Medicines ambition.

  • You will work closely with the SVP General Medicines (and leadership team as needed) and Global CGA teams to help bring the General Medicines story to life, both in terms of the commercial success and broad patient impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Min Bachelor's Degree

  • Min 6 years of CGA experience, with a minimum of 2 years recent experience working in an LOC, supply chain, pharmaceutical product or R&D pipeline communications or healthcare communications (in-house or agency).

  • Experience in commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to partner with the cross functional team in solving complex problems
