Job Description

We are seeking dynamic and experienced trainers, facilitators, and course developers to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering Big Data courses that are practical, industry-focused, and aligned with global data engineering and analytics practices. The successful candidate will be the lead trainer for the courses they develop and will be given priority to train across all course runs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update course materials for big data tools and platforms.
  • Facilitate and conduct training sessions both on-site at Tanjong Pagar and online through e-learning platforms.
  • Engage with students to ensure a hands-on and interactive learning environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Quanterra team to enhance the overall training experience.

Course Topics Include (But Not Limited To):

  • Introduction to Big Data Concepts and Ecosystem
  • Hadoop Framework and HDFS Architecture
  • Data Processing with Apache Spark and MapReduce
  • NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase)
  • Data Ingestion with Kafka, Flume, and Sqoop
  • Real-Time Data Analytics and Streaming with Apache Storm or Spark Streaming
  • Big Data on Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Data Warehousing and ETL Pipelines
  • Data Governance, Security, and Compliance
  • And many more within the big data and analytics engineering domain.

Remuneration

  • Daily rate: $480 - $1200, with revenue-sharing incentive bonuses based on performance.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

General Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in training, facilitation, or education in big data technologies, data engineering, or analytics.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and helping learners apply data solutions in real-world environments.
  • ACLP certification (Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance) is advantageous but not required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore.

Specific Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong expertise in Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL, and distributed data processing.
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for big data workflows.
  • Experience in data lakes, real-time data streaming, and cloud data services.
  • Industry-recognized certifications in big data or data engineering, such as Cloudera Certified Associate (CCA), Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, or AWS Big Data Specialty Certification.
  • Ability to design and develop structured, industry-relevant course materials.
