Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Specialist with at least 5 years of expertise in sourcing Direct Materials, New Product Development (NPD), Capital Equipment, and Raw Materials within the Pharmaceutical industry. This role involves managing the procurement processes for critical materials, equipment, and services that will support product development and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of industry-specific sourcing strategies and may also have experience or familiarity with the "Factory of the Future" (FOTF) concept.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead procurement activities for Direct Materials, New Product Development (NPD), Capital Equipment, and Raw Materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing solutions.

Develop, implement, and execute strategic sourcing strategies for both direct and indirect materials in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.

Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions while maintaining quality and compliance with industry regulations.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, etc.) to ensure sourcing meets production timelines, cost targets, and product specifications.

Manage supplier performance and establish metrics to monitor supplier delivery, quality, and cost.

Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and strategic supplier partnerships.

Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Provide market intelligence and insights on global sourcing trends and the availability of critical materials or equipment.

Manage the procurement lifecycle from request for proposal (RFP) to order placement and post-order management.

Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures, including compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, cGMP).

Support the ongoing development and innovation of the company’s procurement strategies in alignment with the Factory of the Future (FOTF) initiative, focusing on digital transformation and industry best practices.

18-Month Contract (Renewable contract)

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on Direct Materials, Raw Materials, New Product Development (NPD), Capital Equipment, and manufacturing services in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industries.

Proven experience with procurement of raw materials, capital equipment, and new product sourcing in a highly regulated environment.

Familiarity with Factory of the Future (FOTF) concepts, digital manufacturing technologies, and trends in pharmaceutical manufacturing will be a distinct advantage.

Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost-effective contracts while ensuring supplier quality and regulatory compliance.

Expertise in managing supplier relationships, driving cost reduction, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Excellent understanding of procurement systems, tools, and techniques (ERP systems, supplier management platforms, etc.).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and external suppliers.
