The General Cleaner is responsible for the cleanliness of public areas to create a positive impression for guests. This department plays a crucial role in ensuring that the physical aspects of the hotel meet high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation.
Responsibilities:
• To perform all duties associated with the cleaning of walkways, public areas, and guest reception areas of the hotel.
• Performs general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, etc. at every corner of public areas in the hotel
• Ensure all public restrooms and toilets are clean, fresh smelling, and stocked at all times.
• Ensures that the cleaning equipment and tools assigned to perform duties are maintained at all times.
• Dust, clean, and wipe walls, doors, and table tops as and when necessary in the lobby area throughout the shift
• Empty and clean trash bins in public areas
• Undertakes other duties as and when assigned by the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year experience in a housekeeping role (Public Area Cleaner).
• Able to converse in English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shift work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to perform rotating shifts and 6 days work week
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
• Willing to commit OT when required.
• On-the-job training will be provided for those without relevant experience.
