Business Analyst - Financial Reporting
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Business Analyst with expertise in the Data and Finance domain.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for data-centric and financial systems.
Mandatory Skill - set
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related field;
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A);
- Business domain knowledge in banking or the financial industry;
- Experience in data analytics and handling large sets of financial data;
- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and process design skills, with the ability to translate analysis into practical solutions that align with business objectives;
- Knowledge of technology and operational processes across various functions and departments in banking or financial markets;
- Familiarity with change management processes and basic project management principles;
- A resourceful team player with strong leadership capabilities to drive discussions and resolve challenges effectively;
- A strategic, forward-thinking approach to problem-solving, complemented by outstanding communication, influencing, negotiation, and persuasion skills;
- Passionate, diligent, and resilient, with the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments;
- Experience in scoping and evaluation, defining considerations such as scalability, maintainability, cost, operations, and potential risks, to provide well-informed recommendations.
Desired Skill-set
Work experience in Corporate banking/Financial market domain.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and document the "to be" business and operations processes based on the agreed requirements and / or function points, perform impact assessment;
- Liaise with Business Unit Specialists to elicit and review business requirements;
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure non-functional requirements effectively incorporate security requirements;
- Analyse and define detailed functional and non-functional requirements based on business requirements;
- Monitor and manage risks /issues related to requirements and scope;
- Major deliverables are Data mapping specifications and Data Lineage, Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Specification Document;
- Involved in transition functional and non-functional requirements to System Analysts, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements;
- Write business functional release notes and contribute to deployment plan;
- Work with Test Manager to translate business requirements into test scenarios;
- Perform impact assessment and estimation for project and change requests;
- Manage Scope creep and Change Request.
