Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician / Wiring Specialist to join our Advanced Machinery Manufacturing team. This role will focus on electrical wiring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of advanced machinery systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical circuits, machinery wiring, and the ability to work with complex systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Wiring & Installation:
Install, configure, and maintain electrical wiring for advanced machinery and automated systems.
Ensure that all wiring adheres to electrical codes, safety standards, and company specifications.
Install electrical panels, sensors, motors, and other components in advanced machinery systems. - Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose electrical issues and provide timely repairs on machinery, electrical systems, and wiring.
Identify and resolve faults in electrical circuits, components, and wiring systems.
Perform regular checks and inspections on electrical systems to identify potential issues before they become problems. - Maintenance:
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and wiring to minimize downtime and maximize machine efficiency.
Ensure machinery and electrical systems are operating optimally through regular maintenance schedules.
Test and calibrate electrical systems and components after installation or repairs to ensure proper functionality. - System Integration & Upgrades:
Collaborate with engineers to integrate new electrical components or systems into existing machinery or automation systems.
Assist in the installation of upgraded systems or new electrical technologies for machinery improvement and automation. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of wiring layouts, modifications, and repairs to ensure compliance with company procedures.
Document work performed, including wiring configurations, part replacements, and any changes made to the systems.
- Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work is performed safely, following established safety procedures and guidelines.
Adhere to all relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and safety protocols.
Conduct safety checks on electrical systems to prevent hazards like short circuits, overloads, or fire risks. - Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with mechanical and automation engineers to ensure smooth integration of electrical systems with other machinery components.
Provide technical support to operators and other team members on electrical or wiring issues related to machinery operation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:
Nitec / Diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or a related field is preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Experience with wiring for advanced machinery, automation systems, and control panels.
Familiarity with working in environments where CNC machinery or automated systems are used. - Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and wiring techniques.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
Proficiency in using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electrical testing devices.
Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, sensors, and actuators is a plus.
