You will assemble and debug automation designs, support automation upgrades, and manage equipment transfers to Molex Facilities worldwide to ensure all required specifications are met.

Our Team

You will work closely with Production Plant Personnel, DSS Quality, and LR-Automation Engineering teams. This role is part of the DSS-CSBU division, focusing on manufacturing and automation shop activities.

What You Will Do

  • Assembles and debugs automation equipment to insure that all required specifications are met including engineering validation, product verification, and machine qualification.
  • Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and troubleshoots automation stations and components. Includes troubleshooting assembly and product issues, adjusting manufacturing processes to improve product performance and reacting quickly to any production requirements.
  • Performs electrical field wiring of sensors, valves, and motors. Capable of dressing machine wiring harnesses in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Supervises the disassembly/packaging and subsequent unpacking & commissioning of LR-Automation equipment installed in Molex facilities globally.
  • Provides technical support for launching new equipment produced by the LR-Automation Team. Responsibilites will include training of technicians and operators to ensure the proper and safe operation of equipment and assembly of product.
  • Attends Design Reviews and PFMEA’s while working with Automation Design Engineers to improvement current and future designs of Automation Equipment.
  • Understands, supports, and contributes to complete projects according to internal product development procedures, TQM and IS/QS-9000 requirements. Embraces Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
  • Provides insight and design consideration for machine controls and operator interface panels to improve the reliability and ease of operation of the equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • International Travel: Up to 20% per year.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent role.
  • 5+ years of experience with high-speed, precision machinery.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting tool detail, assembly, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Strong self-management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Technical Trade School Degree.
  • Journeyman Tool & Die Certification.
  • 10+ years of experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent role.
  • Fluent use of Siemens NX to load, manipulate, and measure models.
  • Experience in documenting procedures and estimating personal workload.
